A Collector's Guide to the Music of Chuck Berry - What's new?

This is a list of the most important changes to the main site. Not included are changes to the corresponding blog which by intention changes often.

05-03-2010	The third set of re-releases showing Berry's complete works for Chess 1969 to 1974 has been released! See the Back at Chess section. This CD was also included to The Starter's Collection (What you must have). The accidental find of an alternative take of Anthony Boy was added to the Chess Era section. Finally some minor changes were made to the overall outlook including a menu on top of each page.
16-04-2009	Since today, many Berry songs can be heard from this site. Implemented a database-driven interface to the amazon MP3 widget to allow preview and purchase of Chuck Berry MP3s.
12-04-2009	Added an image of the Chuck Berry '75 album to the Back at Chess chapter.
31-03-2009	Added some comments, CDs and books to the section on The Starter's Collection (What you must have).
24-03-2009	The second set of rereleases showing Berry's complete works for Chess 1960 to 1966 has been released! See the Chess Era section.
17-03-2009	Added a description of the radio show Chuck Berry: Hail! Hail! The King of Rock 'n' Roll and some minor comments to the Birthday Concert section.
18-12-2008	Added a description of the second volume of Morten Reff's Chuck Berry International Directory to the Bibliography section.
05-09-2008	Added a description of Morten Reff's Chuck Berry International Directory to the Bibliography section. While doing so, made several smaller changes therein. Also integrated the KMOX Interview CD to the Latest Recordings section.
31-07-2008	Added a note on Victor Bockris book to the Birthday Concert section.
07-07-2008	Corrected some information about the Pim Oets interview recording in the Back at Chess chapter.
01-07-2008	Completely reworked the section on The Starter's Collection (What you must have).
23-06-2008	Included the re-release of the The Day of R&B album in the section on Late Recordings.
18-03-2008	Added two promotional/radio records to the chapter on Radio Show and Promotional Records. Also replaced the image of the Mercury It's Too Dark In There single with its picture cover in the Mercury section.
16-03-2008	Finally something important for the Berry collector happened: the re-release of all of Berry's 1950's Chess recordings in a 103 track 4 CD set. This includes 16 tracks not published before. I reworked the Chess Era section to cover this release. Concurrently I corrected some minor errors/comments there.
08-01-2008	As a place to put news about Chuck Berry records and a place to discuss the contents of this site, today the Chuck Berry Collectors Blog opened. I hope you will participate!
20-11-2007	Finally I Hope These Words Will Find You Well has been made available on CD. Also corrected some information about Ken Walker and John Brower regarding the Toronto concert.
23-10-2007	Added one more radio station album to the Solid Gold Scrapbook section in the chapter on Radio Show and Promotional Records.
14-04-2007	Added an image and a short desciption of a 1994 UK songbook containing guitar tablature to the Bibliography.
01-03-2007	Added an image and a short desciption of a 1964 UK songbook to the Bibliography.
01-09-2006	It's been some time since the last change, but there was nothing new to add. Today, though, I reworked the section on the Birthday Concert and added comments on the DVDs released by Image Entertainment.
09-12-2005	Added a description and image of Rolling Stones play Chuck Berry to the Cover Versions section.
25-10-2005	Added a review of Rich Cohen's Machers and Rockers and a description of the 1964 Arc Music Chuck Berry songbook to the Bibliography.
12-10-2005	Added a description and image of the German box set Geschichte der Popmusik to the Back at Chess chapter and to Long Distance Update.
28-06-2005	Added a description and image of A Tribute to Mr. Rock to the Cover Versions section.
22-02-2005	Added descriptions and images of The ARC Classics and Brown Eyed Handsome Man: Saint Louis Salutes the Father of Rock & Roll to the Cover Versions section and to the Chess Era section. Many changes to the chapter on Radio Show and Promotional Records to include several additional promotional albums and images. Added comments on Adulteen, I'm in the Twilight Zone, and the Get Off promotion to Long Distance Update.
26-09-2004	Added a description and image of the AFRTS transcription records to the chapter on Radio Show and Promotional Records as well as a more correct description of the Westwood One interview.
18-07-2004	Included comments on the undubbed version of All Aboard to the Chess Era chapter and to Long Distance Update.
05-03-2003	After receiving several complaints about the outdated Links section and after getting too many questions about where to find the lyrics of a specific song I completely reworked the Links chapter. Hope you like it. Thanks to Larry Beardslee I was also able to show the cover of the very rare East Word PRT-1076 single in the Late Recordings chapter.
16-02-2003	Added some more comments about the Pim Oets interview recording in the Back at Chess chapter including an image of the Bellaphon 4 Rock Giants album.
11-12-2002	Added a review of Bruce Pegg's Brown Eyed Handsome Man - The Life and Hard Times of Chuck Berry, an unauthorized biography to the Bibliography.
05-12-2002	Added a description of the various DJ copies of the CHESS 1963 single to the chapter on Radio Show and Promotional Records.
22-11-2002	Added reviews of two new biography books on Chuck Berry to the Bibliography. Also incorporated a few minor corrections to that chapter, to the Birthday Concert section, and to Long Distance Update as well as a note on the French translation of Berry's autobiography.
04-11-2002	Added yet another interview recording to the chapter on Radio Show and Promotional Records: the second part of Elwood's interview tape. Also added image and description of the Italian translation of Chuck's autobiography to the Bibliography.
16-09-2002	Added one more interview recording to the chapter on Radio Show and Promotional Records.
14-08-2002	Completed and added a whole new chapter on Radio Show and Promotional Records with lots of new information and images. Enjoy! Also added several smaller corrections and changes.
23-07-2002	Added a description of the The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 6 CD set to both the Latest Recordings chapter and to Long Distance Update. Also included some smaller corrections and additions.
06-06-2002	Completely reworked the section on Late Recordings. Now divided into three chapters: Late Recordings (1976-1985), Chuck's 60th Birthday Celebrations (1986), and Latest Recordings (since 1986). Added two more bootleg recordings and many more information to the Birthday Concert section. Added comments on the Berry/Richards show to the Late Recordings section as well as excerpts from the liner notes to Berry Pickin' in the country to the Related Records section. New visual Table of Contents in the Discography Overview.
15-02-2002	Added a description of the book Chuck Berry by Jean-Jacques Jelot-Blanc to the Bibliography.
10-02-2002	Added an image of the second printing of Howard DeWitt's book to the Bibliography thanks to Larry Beardslee. Added some comments on the 625 TV show to Long Distance Update.
26-01-2002	Various corrections and additions to the discography of Chuck's Mercury era. This includes images of the It's Too Dark in There single and the Johnny B. Goode album. Also corrected some information regarding the album Chuck Berry A L'Olympia in the Chess Era chapter thanks to Morten Reff. Included an image of the original Toronto album by Magnum. Finally corrected some minor errors.
